What is the Sewer Connection Incentive Program (SCIP)?
The Sewer Connection Incentive Program is an initiative the City of Vancouver is taking to enhance and maintain the quality of urban water sources by addressing failing septic systems. By replacing them with sanitary public sewers, the city is working to prevent the pollution of our local water resources. This is not yet a requirement unless your septic tank is currently failing, but getting ahead of this switch will save you the hassle and cost of septic tank maintenance, prevent future septic issues, and protect our city’s water.
